A typical dental day

Down in the morning, done by lunch, home before the traffic.

For most dental work this is a day trip. Here is what it usually looks like — your liaison plans every piece and is one text away.

8:15 amPickupMeet your ride at the San Ysidro trolley or get picked up at home. Or walk across — it’s a 10-minute stroll.
9:00 amStraight inNo waiting room marathon. Your clinic is expecting you, has your X-rays, and the doctor speaks English.
9:15 amReal time with a real doctorAppointments run 45–90 minutes. Questions get answered. Nobody rushes you or upsells you.
12:30 pmLunch & the Fast PassYour clinic issues a Medical Fast Pass for the return lane when the program is running, so the drive back is usually short.
2:00 pmHomeBack in San Diego with a written treatment summary, your warranty, and a liaison who checks in tomorrow.

Times are typical, not promised — border traffic and the city’s Fast Pass program vary by day, and complex work like implants takes more than one visit. Your liaison tells you exactly what to expect for your dates.

How it works

Three steps, one person who knows your name

Tell us what’s going on

Type it in plain words. A bilingual liaison reads it, calls or texts you, and asks the questions a good dentist would ask.

Get a real quote before you go

We send your X-rays and history to a verified clinic and bring back an itemized written quote with warranty terms. No surprises in the chair.

Go, get treated, come home

Dates on your calendar, pickup at the border, Fast Pass home, and a check-in call the next day. If anything is off, your liaison handles it.

Going on your own
  • Googling clinics and hoping the reviews are real
  • Quotes that change once you are in the chair
  • Spanish-only paperwork and consent forms
  • Three-hour border lines on the way back
  • Nobody to call when something is wrong a week later

  • Itemized written quote and warranty before you cross
  • Your records translated and sent ahead; messages translated both ways
  • Pickup at the border and a Medical Fast Pass home when available
  • A liaison who checks in after, and helps if you ever need the clinic again
Other care

Not just teeth

The same liaison model works for surgery, vision, specialists and imaging — where a same-week appointment and a doctor with time to talk can matter as much as the price.

Membership, if you want it

Pay a flat liaison fee per trip, or join for a low monthly fee that removes per-trip fees, adds priority scheduling, a second-opinion review of any U.S. treatment plan, and aftercare check-ins for a year.

A service membership — not insurance, not a discount plan. Clinics pay us a disclosed referral fee that never raises your price.

Questions people ask first
Is it safe to get dental work in Tijuana?

Tijuana has hundreds of dental clinics and many serve thousands of American patients a year with the same implant brands, materials and equipment used in the U.S. The difference is in vetting. We only list clinics whose license (COFEPRIS), dentists’ credentials (cédula profesional) and facilities have been checked, and a bilingual liaison stays on your case so nothing gets lost in translation.

How does a typical day work?

Most dental patients do it as a day trip. You cross in the morning (walk across at San Ysidro or get picked up by your clinic or liaison), go straight to your appointment, and head home the same afternoon. Many partner clinics can arrange a Medical Fast Pass for the return crossing, which puts you in a dedicated lane and typically turns a long wait into a short one. For a crown or implant you may come back a few days later for the final fitting.

What is the Medical Fast Pass?

A program run by the city of Tijuana that lets patients of registered clinics use a priority lane when driving back into the U.S. Your clinic requests it for your appointment day. It is widely used, but it is issued by the city, so it is not something we can guarantee — your liaison will always tell you whether it is available for your dates.

How much will I actually save?

Typical Tijuana prices are 50–70% below U.S. prices for crowns, implants, root canals and full-arch work, and 40–70% for surgery. Every procedure page shows both ranges, and you always get an itemized written quote from the clinic before you cross. If the plan changes after your exam, you are told before any change in cost.

What does Puente Health charge?

You can pay a flat liaison fee per trip, or join as a member for a low monthly fee that removes per-trip fees and adds priority scheduling and aftercare check-ins. Clinics may also pay us a disclosed referral fee for patients we bring them. That fee never raises your price, and we tell you exactly what it is.

Are you a medical provider or an insurance company?

Neither. We are a patient liaison and coordination service. Licensed clinics in Mexico provide your care and are responsible for it. Our membership is a service membership, not insurance and not a discount health plan.
